delaney turns 1!

We went to Bill's (my brother-in-law) sister's house for a Labor Day/Delaney's first birthday party this past Sunday. We drove up in the late morning and basically ate all day long. We had such a great time, we decided to stay the night so we could hang out with Bill and Kaira and all of Bill's siblings, neices, nephews, etc.

Here are a few pictures from the shindig...

How can you not giggle when you see this girl dance?

Trying to take a family portrait, but all Delaney wanted was kisses.

Just about a perfect family portrait.

Her very first birthday tiara.

Opening gifts, of course that Redskin outfit is from us!

Eating her ice cream cone cupcake...yummy!

What a happy birthday girl!

Icing was seriously everywhere, including the tissue paper from the gifts, her tiara, her fingers, nose, legs, dress, kaira's legs, my hands and the list goes on!

The morning after their sugar-high!

We hope you enjoyed viewing the photographs as much as we enjoyed taking them. She is such a blessing!

We love you all!

much awaited honeymoon pictures...

I know it has taken me forever to post photographs from the honeymoon, but I promise it is because our readjustment period really took the two weeks that we have been back. I have to say a week on an island with no schedule and basically no plans, made it crazy difficult to come back to a very structured lifestyle (not that I am complaining...)

So, here you go. I won't give a play-by-play as it is very long and boring, but I will share my most favorite pictures from our week in the Bahamas.

My HUSBAND and I out one night to see a live band at the Cricketers Pub.

True local Bahamian music called Junkanoo. They had a Festival that was really fun!

A beautiful sunset over the Caribbean Sea.

Cool shot of the hut we hung out on the island at Sandals Cay.

Yes, our very own Corona Advertisement...too bad they didn't serve any or else we would've included it in our photograph!

Rick waiting for the ferry to scoop us from Sandals Cay back to Sandals mainland.

A towel puppy our butler left us, sporting my oakleys of course!

My tan husband just leaning on a pole.

Always sportin' the tiger colors...

The chess set by our villa. Had to take a picture because it was almost life-size.

And last but not least, since it is obviously a tradition now, we wrote in the sand...

Well, that is all for now.

We went to Delaney's first birthday party in Northern Virgina last Sunday so I will probably post those photographs in the next day or so...

But, I must go watch the Redskin kick-off now!

We love you all!

Love,
your loosing-our-bahamian-tan richmonders.

Mr. & Mrs. Rice!

Yes, it is official! We are married!

For those of you who missed our amazing wedding weekend... we had the most beautiful and fun time. Words will never describe it and although the pictures so far have been outstanding, I am not sure that pictures will ever be able to capture the amazing time we and all of our guests had... it was truly one of those things you just had to be there for.

We are so blessed that so many of our friends and family were there!

We just got back from a fantastic honeymoon in the Bahamas so I am going to try and keep this short, but I wanted to direct your attention to the link in "My Blog List" to our photographer Stacey's Blog (Your Life Photography) where she wrote a little bit about our wonderful day. There are even some pictures to satisfy everyone until we can get everything organized!

I promise we will write more with pictures from the entire weekend as well as from our honeymoon!

We love you all!

Love,
your officially wed richmonders.

last single weekend!

Rick and I had a great last weekend as an unmarried couple!

We did a lot of apartment hunting, saw one on Saturday that we love so hopefully we can beat everybody else to it. But also made a ton of phone calls about others, so hopefully some people will call me back today.

The Skins won their second game although just preseason! It was a good and exciting game!

Don't remember if I mentioned it before but my aunt, Peggy, won a lottery through her work and we are going to a Skins game on Sept 21st AND we get to sit in the lower section near the 30-yard-line. We are lucky ducks!

We went to the Watermelon Festival with Heidi, Erin and my parents yesterday as well. It was a beautiful day to walk around Carytown.

The girls in Carytown. (Erin, Heidi, Me, My Mom)

As for this last week leading up to the big day, we are both very busy. We both are working today and tomorrow and I am headed to Cape Charles with my mom and grandma on Wednesday. Rick will be coming down with some friends on Thursday late afternoon.

As for everything else, well all we can focus on is the wedding! It is so close! We can't wait to see everybody!

Love,
your single-but-not-for-long richmonders.

officially an ex-gimp!

Yes, that is right! I had a foot doctor appointment on Wednesday and it is official... no boot for me. Although I do have quite a lovely tan line from that thing (good thing I am wearing a long dress!). He told me not to go running marathons anytime soon but that I had the most beautiful calis (didn't realize I never knew how to spell this word and I still can't figure it out!) that he has ever seen (thanks doc what a compliment!)

So yes, I am officially going to be a barefoot bride once again!

In other news, Rick started a job last week that he absolutely loves! We are officially a 2-income family once again and are looking to hopefully sign a lease of our own before all the festivities next weekend. We have found a few places we like, but have to go and view everything first of course!

But overall, life is good.

I think I got excited for the first time about the wedding yesterday and it is really all I can think/talk/dream about! I am so looking forward to seeing everybody and I really think it is going to be such a great time and fun for all!

some photographs.

I completely forgot to post these last week and just wanted to share some adorable photographs of my beautiful niece Delaney and our soon-to-be flower girl!

She is such a ham!

Delaney cheesin' with Auntie Erin.

Unc and Delaney.

She just knows when the camera is on her!

Love,
